Maurer [920.72 M448N 2009].    Sometimes it’s great to read ‘close to home’ and I appreciated learning more about Indiana’s female leadership.  Former Indiana Secretary of Commerce and Indiana Business Journal columnist, Michael Maurer clearly knows how to write inspiring biography.   All of the women in this collection have a strong Indiana connection and are alive today.  Their stories demonstrate the ability to make it on their own, to sacrifice, and to make smart, difficult choices.  You will find a rabbi, a judge, a sports champion, artists, businesswomen and educators in this volume.  Great reading about contemporary Indiana life.  This book would be a wonderful choice for groups of young women to explore.
