Book Review:  Karen Armstrong

alt With over 20 books about Islam, Judaism, and Christianity, Karen Armstrong is considered one of today's most provocative, original thinkers about religion. History of God, a 2008 TED winner, earned Armstrong $100,000 and helped fund her "Charter for Compassion".

In Twelve Steps to a Compassionate Life, chapters start with "Learn About Compassion" and close with "Love Your Enemies." In between, Armstrong tackles self-love, mindfulness, suffering, sympathetic joy, the limits of our knowledge of others, and "concern for everybody."
