Open Mic Night
Thursday, May 1, 7:00 p.m.
Downtown, All Ages
Wrap up National Poetry Month with an open mic night. Bring an original poem or an old favorite. Step up to the mic and read. Share your fondness for poetry with people throughout our county. Celebrate the winners of the 2014 TCPL Poetry Contest.

US Poet Laureates

The US Poet Laureate is appointed by the Librarian of Congress to a one-year term. They promote reading, writing, and appreciating poetry throughout the country. The current laureate is Natasha Tretheway.

Indiana Poet Laureates

Every two years, the Indiana Arts Commission appoints Hoosier writer as the state poet laureate. The current laureate is George Kalamaras.
